Are you in a telemetry coverage blackspot? - Temporary Telemetry Exemption

The Minister has made a temporary exemption from the non-urban metering rules under clause 233 of the Water Management (General) Regulation 2018 for works that require telemetry but do not receive telemetry network coverage.
The exemption:

• automatically applies when a person notifies the Minister, using this exemption notification form, that based on the online coverage tool (telemetry coverage report) a work that requires telemetry under NSW’s non-urban metering rules, is in a site that does not receive the network coverage needed to connect to the NSW Government’s telemetry system

• exempts the work from the requirement to install a data logging and telemetry solution (known as a local intelligence device), as described in clauses 4 and 6 of Schedule 8 of the Water Management (General) Regulation 2018

• requires the holder of the authority for the work to comply with all other requirements under the non-urban metering rules and record and report water taken through the work every month, based on the requirements that apply to water users with meters but no telemetry

• lapses on 23 December 2022.
